The original purpose of this web-site was to be a source of free practical information and assistance to our client families, and the consuming public in general.  It was never intended as a forum for online or retail casket and urn sales.  However, in reality, once we have our caskets and price lists on our site, online/retail purchases of funeral merchandise from Everest of Thunder Bay, will be another option that the consumer will have.

          At Everest of Thunder Bay, we are proud of our efforts to negotiate the best pricing; discounts; terms; and delivery service from our suppliers.  Especially with caskets, we will only deal with reputable, "name-brand" manufacturers for our funeral merchandise.  Wherever possible, we do buy from local business people, which has resulted in some of our urns and containers being made in the Thunder Bay area.

          Our markup on our products is fair, and comparable to (even lower than some) of the storefront retailers of caskets and other funeral products.  Likewise, to the best of our knowledge, while our merchandise prices are similar to comparable merchandise found at other funeral homes, we offer the largest selection of caskets, containers, and urns in the area.

          For families who wish or need to be economical, we have the most options that you will find, in cloth-covered, and basic wood caskets.  We also have far more choices in the higher quality caskets, including exotic woods, steel, and precious metals (copper and bronze).  The largest number of choices, from the least expensive to the most elaborate.  The choice is yours.

    So, how do you buy a casket, container, or urn "online"?  Well, you don't really do it online, but it's the next best thing.  You can still use your computer and the telephone, you need not come down to our offices:

1. Find the product you are interested in, on our website.  Make a note of the manufacturer, model number and price.

2. Remember to consider the 13% HST amd Shipping costs (as applicable) are variable and extra.

3. Have the product information and your VISA ready, and call one of our two locations:  Waverley at 344-1121 or 344-2014 or toll-free 1-800-558-5982.  Westfort at 473-1121 or 475-7691.

4. Speak to one of our funeral directors, and let them know that you wish to purchase a product found on our website.  Provide them with the product information; your name, address, and phone number; where and when you need it delivered to.

5. Our staff will verify availability; delivery and shipping times and costs as applicable, and will then call you back immediately.

6. Once everything has been confirmed, they will provide you with a total cost, and upon your approval, we will require your VISA number and expiration date.  Your receipt and accounting will be forwarded to you by mail.

Delivery / Shipping Options:

          Shipping can be a very large variable / obstacle, depending on the merchandise (casket or urn), the time frame (how soon do you need it), location you wish it sent to (across the city or across Canada), and the day of the week (some shippers do not work weekends).  However, we will do our utmost to provide you with the best service possible and ultimately we will know if we can meet your needs before the product is shipped and we will be totally honest with you (if we can't, there's no use shipping the product).

 In Town Service - For any product required in Thunder Bay or the immediate area, we will personally deliver your purchase, door-to-door, at no additional cost.

Out of Thunder Bay - Caskets

- For casket orders over $900. (excluding taxes) we will provide free delivery up to 100 km., and additional km will be .75km one way.  For casket orders under $900., delivery charges would be .75km one way.

- Shipping by common carrier (ground or air) would be at cost, plus cost of carton (as required).

- Urns - Free packaging and 48 or 72 hour delivery within Canada.  Overnight delivery within Canada is $45. additional.

- Other Merchandise - Please call for details.
