While every monument should be personalized, for years, families in Thunder Bay and the surrounding area were limited in their choices of monument suppliers and monument designs.  The available lettering and personalization served the purpose, but was typically a standard design done by heavy engraving.  "Custom" designs, and etching were available, but typically had to be ordered through one supplier and manufactured by another.  This added to the cost and delivery time of the monument.

          Today, you have options.  Both Gibson Monuments and Lakehead Monument are proud to be able to offer custom, etched monuments at a much more reasonable price.  Any photograph or design that you wish, can be hand or computer etched onto either a new monument, or an existing one - at a price that will pleasantly surprise you!  The only limitation is in the colour of the stone - etching works best on either black or dark grey.

          They can either provide you with a selection of designs, or can use photos that you provide.  The can even take a number of pictures, and design a collage for you monument.  The choice is yours.

          Keep in mind that custom etched monuments do take slightly longer to complete, and do cost a little more money than a standard engraving.  However, they are a work of art when completed that will last for generations.
