Revised September 2000
 At Everest of Thunder
Bay, for several years, our general prices have been based on a "Value-Added Pricing
System"
where Basic Services are provided for most all client families,
and Additional Services (staff, facilities, administration, preparations,
stationary, and automobiles) are added specific to the level of service required
to perform the type of service package selected by the family. For example, a
Memorial Funeral Service held in our chapel requires more staff and facilities
than a Memorial Funeral Service held in a church, and a Traditional Funeral
Service with a procession to a church and/or cemetery requires more services
than a Memorial Funeral Service held in our chapel. This
pricing structure is to ensure that we charge each family fairly and
appropriately for the type of service that they have chosen.
On occasion our service packages do not serve the needs or circumstances of
the family, and in those instances we ultimately tailor the services provided
and the resulting charges to what best suits the family's needs and budget.
Historically, funeral home service fees have only represented a portion of
the true overhead costs, with the balance and profit included in the casket
price. Our practice is for our fees to reasonably reflect the cost of providing
the staff, facilities, equipment and vehicles necessary to provide the service
thus recovering as much of our true overhead as possible from the service fee.
This has resulted in our having somewhat higher fees for services, staff,
facilities, etc... but typically lower charges for merchandise such as caskets,
containers, vaults and urns. Ultimately the total is the same as one would find
elsewhere. If you are "shopping" for funeral prices, be sure to look
carefully at the total, not just the individual charges, and also compare what
is included and what is an extra (ie: organist, limousines, professional grief
counselling, etc...). Likewise, two caskets may look very much the same, but
may be totally different in construction, materials, and overall quality.
Typically, (because of our higher service charges) our caskets must be compared
to caskets costing 10 to 25% more at many other firms.
Another feature of our pricing structure is that our total charges for casket
and services tends to be less than the competition at the entry-level for
traditional services and for cremation services. Our mid-range (where most
clients purchase) is comparable to the competition, and we have more selection
available for those families who are in the higher price range. Our policy is to
have as much to satisfy all tastes and budgets, while at the same time keeping
the lower level as affordable for those who either need or wish to economize.
Likewise, for those whom have a financial hardship, we will assist in any way
possible to provide dignified services that meet their needs with a price and
terms that they can handle. We are here to serve as you wish to be served and
within your budget.

Individual price lists are effective the date printed on the individual price
sheet. As not
all prices are adjusted at the same time, effective dates do not
always coincide on the various pages. Prices lists can and may change at any time
without notice, and specific price quotes are generally only valid for 30 days from the
date issued unless otherwise stated. Prices quoted for disbursements or any other cash
advance items are not guaranteed beyond the day of quotation, as
we have no control over the fees of outside services (ie: cemetery, newspaper,
crematorium, etc...).

At
Everest
of Thunder Bay, we are not in the banking business, and ultimately must be
paid for services and merchandise provided. However, we are most flexible and
terms can be easily arranged with your funeral director that will suit your
needs and circumstances. Unlike many other firms, discounts on merchandise are
provided for prompt payment, and payment plans can be arranged. If necessary,
we can include disbursement items on our account, but cash advance items must
be paid before services are rendered (ie: cemetery, crematorium, clergy,
flowers, etc...). Credit Terms MUST be finalized at the time of
arrangements. For more
details,
please refer to our
payment policy page, available in this section of our website.
