Over the years we have provided service to many communities throughout Northwestern Ontario.  Some areas are serviced by their own funeral home, some are not.  Likewise, as Thunder Bay is a medical centre for all of Northern Ontario, many people come here for treatment, and may die in a Thunder Bay hospital.  When that happens, families are often unsure of what to do next.

           When we are called by a family from outside Thunder Bay, but who's loved one has died in a local hospital, we will first ascertain what kind of services they are looking for, and we will also make them aware of the closest funeral home to their own community.  We want to be of assistance to families, but we are not trying to directly compete with the smaller funeral homes in the area.   If the family wants their loved one returned to their home community, it can be better if they deal direct with their local funeral director.  In such a situation, we will often provide that firm with profesional trade services and assistance, but this will not cost the family any additional, as it is between funeral homes.

          If the family (for whatever reason) does not wish to deal with their own firm; or there really isn't one close to their home; or they are wishing direct cremation services; then we are most interested and willing to be of service to them.  We regularily provide service for families throughout the Thunder Bay District and beyond.  We have conducted traditional-type funerals followed by burial or cremation in communities as far away as Rainy River, Ignace, Marathon/Manitouwadge, and everything in between.  Likewise we have served families with direct cremation services from all over the Northwest.  If the death occurs in your home community and you wish to deal with our firm, we will drive to your home; make the necessary arrangements in your home; and then bring your loved one back to Thunder Bay as required.

          Likewise, Everest of Thunder Bay has provided service to many First Nations communities throughout the Northwest for many years.  For many First nations families, we are "their funeral home of choice".  Whether it is service in Thunder Bay, or a return to their home community by automobile or aircraft, we are privelaged to serve.  (For more information, please refer to the "First Nations Services " section.)
