Obituary for Mrs. Leslie Ann Curran (Poolton)

Mrs. Leslie Ann Curran, age 47 years, passed away peacefully with her family by her side in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday, May 23, 2012.

Leslie was known for her energetic and humourous attitude. She was a giving and caring soul who would help anyone in need which is why she loved volunteering with the Salvation Army. She loved many sports like, baseball, Judo and youth bowling and was an animal lover. She also spent countless hours outside, enjoying the sun and sitting by the pool. Leslie had a great holiday spirit, especially at Christmas. Her cooking was always part of the holidays – especially her “world famous” shrimp. Leslie's home and family were very important to her and she was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first grandson due any day now.

Survived by her husband John and children Victoria (Majed) Alawi and Eric, parents Norman and Claudette Poolton and sister Kimberly (Andrew) Madel. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

An evening gathering for family and friends will be held on Monday, May 28, 2012 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley St. at Algoma with Vigil Prayers being offered at 7:00PM. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Leslie may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation.
