Obituary for Mr. Gary Mark Perrier

GARY PERRIER

It is with broken hearts that the family of Gary Perrier announce his sudden
and unexpected passing on December 18th, 2022.
Gary was born in August of 1955 in Fort William. He grew up in
Westfort, attending both St. Ann & Westgate schools. He began working at
Great Lakes with many of his uncles in 1973, apprenticing, and later certifying
as a millwright. He stayed there until his retirement - at which time he had
over 30 years at “the plant”. He made lifelong friendships there; many of
whom became uncles to his girls. He had weekly “garbage day” dates with his
bestie Lenny where they, and sometimes others, would have a beer(s) and
solve the world’s problems. He loved cold beer, AC/DC, cooking shows, and
his sidekick pup Sadie. Gary loved fishing - a hobby he began in his youth
riding his bike to creeks around the city looking for speckled trout. He spent
years captaining his lund while his dad Roland, and later his beloved wife
Sharon at the bow. He has left years of memories made on some lake while
camping, something he also enjoyed and instilled into his children. Gary met
and married his one and only Sharon in 1978, they have 3 daughters whom
Gary was immensely proud of, and 3 grandkids that he made sure knew he
loved them with almost daily phone calls and visits. Gary loved family; even if
you weren’t related by blood he treated you like you were. He loved large and
completely without judgement. Gary is survived by his beloved Sharon, his
wife of 44 years; his daughters Kiley (Steve), Lacy (Lui), & Shelby (Scott), and
three grandchildren Noah, Paige & Isla, as well as his brother Larry (Jeannine)
and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Roland &
Ann, his sister Carole, niece Gen and nephews Tanner & Cody. In Gary’s
memory this Christmas, have a beer, shut your phone (machine) off, be
present, and be with your family, he would want to see everyone together and
celebrate. Tragically Gary’s mom Ann passed a week prior, so there was
already a combined celebration of life on December 21st. The family would
like to thank everyone for attending, and for all the calls, food, and messages
they have received.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 575 Central Avenue, Thunder Bay.
