Mr. Ron William Rautio, born May 9, 1968 in Port Arthur, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Wednesday, January 12, 2005.

A former member of the National Ski-Jumping Team, Ron was a member of the Canadian Olympic Team in 1988. He enjoyed fishing and camping before his back injury in 1996.

Ron is survived by his mother and stepfather Laura and Norman Keetch, father Martti Rautio, brothers Kimmo, Allan, Veli-Martti and Kaarlo Rautio and their families; stepsisters Shannon, Heather and Norma and their families.

Ronnie was a fun-loving and caring person who will be sadly missed by his family.

As per Ron’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place in Hilldale Lutheran Church. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery at a later date.

If friends so desire, donations to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health or Hilldale Lutheran Church Memorial Fund would be greatly appreciated.
