Obituary for Mr. Robert GILLESPIE

Robert William Gillespie
Jan.13,1936-Oct.12,2002
A beloved husband, son, father, grandfather and friend Bob Gillespie died October 12,2002.
A man of great faith and love. Exuberant, out going and humorous. Bob talked with everyone he saw, and he knew that everyone he talked with, added something to his life, that wasn’t there before. And he was grateful for that.
Bob was a land surveyor and spent a large part of his life in the bush, surveying the "great Northwest”. He was awarded a lifetime license as an Ontario prospector.
A big, strong, tough man, Bob waded through swamps, climbed mountains and never backed away from any obstacle. (he never wore "bug dope” in the bush!)
He had a tender loving heart and appreciated the majesty of the earth and sky, the flora and fauna. The beauty of a child or a new flower blooming in his garden.
He is survived by his wife and best friend Nan, his mother Margaret, daughters Laurie Gillespie and Nathan and Leslie Hill: Kathy and Jerry Slobojan. His sons Tom and Charlene and Madelaine: Bob and Tanis and Megan, Taryn and Robyn: John and Tina and Patrick, Kathleen and Kelsey: Mark and Treva: Stephen and Debi and Jack and William: Gerald: and their mother Delores. He is also survived by Nan’s children.
Rod Johansen, Norine, Daniel and Kathleen: Trevor and Cathie Johansen and Tyler and Cody: Todd Johansen: and Kyle and Cindy Johansen.
His sister and friend Frances, and her husband Ernie Oksanen and their children Gary, Christine and Eric (here). Bob will be missed by his furry friends, Freddy and Phoebe.
The Funeral Mass for the late Mr. Robert Gillespie will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2002 at 1:00 PM at St. Elizabeth’s R.C. Church celebrated by Fr. Richard Kowalchuk. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2002 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM with Vigil Prayers being offered at 7:00 PM in the Westfort Chapel, 420 W. Gore Street at James.
