Obituary for Mrs. Marian McCARTHY (Bradley)

Marion passed away peacefully at the St. Joseph’s Hospice Unit on the 16th of November. A life- long resident of Thunder Bay, she was born in Port Arthur on December 26, 1913.

Marion was predeceased by her husband James (Jimmie) McCarthy in 1975, her sister Eleanore Whitall in 1988 and brother Edmund Bradley in 1993.

Cherishing her memory are her children, and grandchildren - son Wayne (Joan) of Thunder Bay and grandchildren Donna, Jan, Sharon and Pat. Daughter Mary Jane (Dave Norman) of North Bay and grandchildren Mike, Brad, Lisa and Paula. Joanne (Tom Dunn) of Charlottetown and grandchildren Brian, Jennifer, Stacy and Stuart. Also lovingly remembered by her seventeen great-grandchildren.

Marion was very involved in the life of her Church. She was President of St. Margaret’s C.W.L. for a number of years and also very active in her new parish of Corpus Christi. She volunteered for various groups such as CNIB, Candy Stripers, Telecare, driving for the Cancer Clinic but especially enjoyed her Craft and Prayer Group over the years and made many caring and gracious friends.
Marion resided at Jasper Place for the last number of years and the family wish es to thank the Jasper Support Group for their care and support over the years, also to Jose-Lyn for her personal and loving care and the Hospice Unit at St.Joseph’s for their kindness and compassion during her last days.

A celebration of Marion’s life will take place at the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL 299 Waverley St. at Algoma on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at 7:00 PM with Father P.M. Stilla presiding at the visitation and vigil where a celebration of her life with a family member giving a short eulogy and we also
Invite others if they wish to speak recalling their fond memories of Marion.

A funeral mass celebration will take place at Corpus Christi Church on Thursday, November 20, 2003 at 11:00 AM with cremation and interment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to the following: Jasper Place, St. Joseph’s Hospice Unit, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or a Charity of your choice.
